On the evening of January 25, 2022, in Jackson, Mississippi, a burst of gunfire shattered the night, leaving a scene of violence and tragedy in a vehicle near Fondren Park. When the chaos subsided, 27-year-old Purnell Cowart, a male, had been fatally wounded, his life brought to an abrupt and violent end. Another individual in the vehicle with him was also struck by the gunfire and sustained serious injuries, a testament to the indiscriminate nature of the attack.
