In the late afternoon of August 15, 2017, in Grenada, Mississippi, the life of 9-month-old Rashun Riley, a Black baby boy, was tragically cut short. Around 1:40 p.m., a drive-by shooting occurred on Adams Street. Multiple shots were fired from a passing vehicle, and at least one of the bullets penetrated the walls of the home where Rashun was inside. The young child was struck in the head.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and Rashun was quickly transported by air ambulance
