Latasha Collins, a 28-year-old woman from Fayette, Mississippi, tragically lost her life on February 10, 2018. The incident occurred at Zippy’s convenience store on Main Street in Fayette. According to reports, Jefferson County Sheriff Peter E. Walker stated that deputies were called to the scene around 4:30 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies and emergency responders found Collins and transported her to Jefferson County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
