Almond Turner, a retired assistant police chief from Covington, Georgia, was tragically shot and killed on November 23, 2019, during a family gathering in Meridian, Mississippi. Turner, who had retired in 2016 after a distinguished 45-year career in law enforcement, was attending the event when the incident occurred.
