In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Jackson, Mississippi, a dispute shattered the night and ended a life. On February 18, 2020, Jerrie Cornelius 'Lil Jerrie' Kency, a 28-year-old male, was shot multiple times at an apartment complex on Sunset Drive in the northwestern part of the city. The Jackson Police Department responded to the scene to find Kency, who was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, marking the city's ninth homicide of the year.
