Alberta Garner, a 24-year-old resident of Indianola, Mississippi, tragically lost her life on April 10, 2020. Garner was shot and killed just before dawn on Garrard Avenue in Indianola. According to police reports, she was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a shooting incident. Garner's death marked the second time a young woman had been fatally shot in Indianola within a short span, highlighting a troubling pattern of gun violence in the area.
