In the quiet town of Indianola, Mississippi, a beloved 65-year-old Black female resident, Vanessa Cassandra Hollins, was tragically killed on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Known affectionately as 'Sand,' she was a devoted grandmother and a caregiver to many in her community. Her life was cut short in a violent act that also claimed the lives of her friends, 76-year-old Steve Scott and his 73-year-old wife, Sarah Scott.
