On March 2, 2025, the body of 27-year-old Katie Marie Thompson, a white female from Indianola, Mississippi, was discovered on a property near her residence. Thompson had been reported missing by her family, prompting a search that culminated in this tragic finding. Sunflower County Sheriff James Haywood reported that there were no immediate signs of foul play at the scene.
