On August 22, 2020, Tommie Anderson, a 38-year-old resident of Jackson, Mississippi, was fatally shot at a motel located on I-55 North. The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. inside a motel room following a dispute with another man. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting, leaving Anderson critically injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Anderson succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
