In the winter of 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in Jackson, Mississippi, leaving two teenagers dead and another wounded. The incident unfolded on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the intersection of West Street and Mitchell Avenue. Inside a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier that day, 18-year-old Carlos Stewart and 14-year-old Marlin Thompson were struck by a hail of bullets.
