Juan Reginald Harvey Jr., a 19-year-old Black male, was killed in a double homicide on the evening of Tuesday, April 20, 2021, in Gulfport, Mississippi. The incident also resulted in the death of 18-year-old Teraye Preston.

The Gulfport Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at approximately 5:23 p.m. in the vicinity of Loposser Avenue and Layton Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered Harvey inside a vehicle, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Preston was found in the ...
