Carson, a Black/African American male, was a beloved father and an outgoing member of his community, known for his love for family and friends.
The incident unfolded when an SUV carrying two men and a woman arrived at the scene. The two male occupants exited the vehicle, and a confrontation with Carson quickly turned violent, resulting in him being fatally shot. The investigation that followed suggested the act was premeditated, though a clear motive was not publicly established.
Authorities launched a thorough investigation that led to the identification and subsequent arrest of three suspects in connection with Carson's death. JaMichael Jenkins, Anthony Rashawn Hunt, and Nekila Michelle Davis were all charged with homicide. Jenkins was apprehended by a team of U.S. Marshals and the Moss Point Police Department.
