Francisco Favela, a 45-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, was kidnapped and later murdered on December 11, 2010. He was abducted in an attempt to extort a $500,000 ransom. Darnell Stokes, along with two accomplices—Keith Watts and Jeremy Borders—was charged with aggravated kidnapping and first-degree murder. Favela's body was discovered on the following Monday, showing signs of head trauma and stab wounds. Stokes was officially charged on December 15, 2010, and his bail was set at $2.5 ...
