Mariyah Lacey, a 5-year-old girl from Jackson, Mississippi, tragically lost her life on June 12, 2022. Mariyah was shot while inside her mother's vehicle at a gas station on Bailey Drive. The incident occurred around noon when a man, identified as Robert Dewayne Jackson, 25, got into an argument with Mariyah's mother, Jasmine Self. During the altercation, Jackson fired shots into the vehicle, fatally wounding Mariyah and grazing her mother with a bullet.
