In the fading light of an October evening in Greenville, Mississippi, the life of 19-year-old Derrick Hutchins Jr. was tragically cut short. On Saturday, October 22, 2022, at approximately 8 p.m., gunfire erupted in the 1700 block of Alexander Street. When the violence ceased, Hutchins had been fatally wounded.
