David Corral, aged 17, was tragically killed on March 13, 2011, in Chicago, Illinois. He was shot in a drive-by incident while standing on a sidewalk in the 5700 block of South Washtenaw Avenue. The incident occurred in the afternoon, and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The shooting was part of a troubling trend of violence that plagued Chicago in 2011, a year which saw over 430 homicides throughout the city.
