In the spring of 2007, a violent encounter in Oklahoma City claimed the life of Mark D. Clewis Sr., a 41-year-old Black man. On the evening of April 19th, outside his apartment at 6219 S. Independence Avenue, what began as a conversation between Clewis and two other individuals escalated into a fatal assault.
