In the summer of 2014, the life of 37-year-old Deangelous Mackey, a Black male, was cut short in a violent encounter in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On the night of Monday, June 23rd, police were called to the Meadows Apartments located at 2833 South 115th East Avenue, near the intersection of 31st Street and Garnett Road. There, they discovered Mackey with a single gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
