In the summer of 2014, the life of 37-year-old Deangelous Mackey, a Black male, was cut short in a violent encounter in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On the night of Monday, June 23rd, police were called to the Meadows Apartments located at 2833 South 115th East Avenue, near the intersection of 31st Street and Garnett Road. There, they discovered Mackey with a single gunshot wound to the head.
He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
Despite medical efforts, Deangelous Mackey succumbed to his injuries and passed away at 8:28 the following morning, Tuesday, June 24, 2014. The Tulsa Police Department swiftly classified the case as a homicide, launching an investigation into the fatal shooting. Detectives began to piece together the events of that tragic night, turning to the community for any information that could lead to a breakthrough in the case.
