In the late summer of 2014, a family argument in the small town of Shady Point, Oklahoma, ended in the tragic death of 21-year-old Douglas Doug Byrd. On the night of Sunday, August 10th, an altercation erupted between Byrd and his stepfather. The heated exchange escalated, culminating in Byrd being shot.
