In the early morning hours of October 4, 2014, the life of 19-year-old DeQuinn L. Mackey was tragically cut short in a shooting at the Quail Lake Apartments in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The incident, which unfolded shortly before 1:30 a.m. near N.W. 140th and Penn, stemmed from a dispute between two men over a suspected stolen cellphone. The argument escalated, leading to gunfire that would have fatal consequences for Mackey and injure another individual.
