On May 24, 2016, 14-year-old Ricardo Banuelas was shot in his home in Oklahoma City, along with his father, Pedro Banuelas. When Ricardo's brother, Pedro Jr., returned to the residence, he found both his father and Ricardo critically injured. Pedro Banuelas Sr. had been shot multiple times and was declared dead at the scene, while Ricardo was rushed to the hospital, where he died shortly after.
