On a spring day in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, the life of 66-year-old Donald W. Allen, a male Vietnam veteran, came to a tragic end. On April 11, 2015, police were called to his residence after reports of a man firing a gun in the neighborhood. The situation quickly escalated when Mr. Allen confronted the responding officer, Brian Barnett, with a loaded pistol.
