In the spring of 2015, the life of 19-year-old Kionty Fields, a Black male from Oklahoma City, was cut tragically short. On the evening of April 29th, a violent altercation in a northwest Oklahoma City apartment escalated to the point of gunfire. When the chaos subsided, Fields was found dead, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The incident was a stark reminder of the broader issues of violence that plagued the area.
