Steven Tanner Pedigo, aged 31, was shot and killed on September 14, 2016, in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel off Interstate 44 and May Avenue in Oklahoma City. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of his birthday. The investigation into his death quickly led authorities to identify three suspects—Essence Roberts, Christian Frels, and Erik Kopepassah, all aged 19.
