In the quiet Oak Park neighborhood of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the night of July 26, 2015, was shattered by violence that claimed the life of 44-year-old Carl Ronald Rogers Jr., a Black/African American male from Tulsa. Rogers was discovered lying in the middle of Acorn Street, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound. The events leading to his death are believed to have started with a disturbance at nearby Douglass Park, which then escalated and moved to the more remote location where the shooting
occurred.
The Bartlesville Police Department immediately launched an investigation into the homicide. Their early efforts led to the discovery of a silver 2012 GMC Terrain SUV, which they believed was connected to the shooting. This lead was generated thanks to a tip from a concerned citizen. Despite this early progress in the case, identifying a specific suspect proved to be a significant challenge for law enforcement.
In an effort to gather more information, the police released a list of individuals they considered to be potential witnesses. This list included Broderick Towers, Randy Ricks, Deante Williams, Troy Hester Jr., Keisha Penn, Jerrin Birmingham, Denorvice Howard Jamal Diggs, Danny Newton and Demarco Dailey. Authorities urged anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of these individuals to come forward, emphasizing that community cooperation was crucial to solving the case. However, despite their public appeals and ongoing investigation, no arrests have been made in the death of Carl Ronald Rogers Jr., and the case remains unresolved with no publicly identified suspects.
