Phillip Anthony Ferris, a 37-year-old resident of Mill Valley, California, disappeared on August 20, 2006, under troubling circumstances. Ferris, who had recently gotten married just a few months prior, was last seen at his home around 8:00 p.m. that evening. He was described as standing 5'10" and weighing about 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He had several distinctive tattoos, including a phrase on his bicep, a Tao symbol on his foot, and a fish on his ribcage.
The events of his disappearance are linked to the Golden Gate Bridge, where witnesses reported seeing a man fitting Ferris’ description exiting a vehicle and jumping off the west side of the bridge. The white Ford F-150 pickup truck, which Ferris had borrowed, was found abandoned near Pole 76 of the bridge, intensifying concerns about his safety. Authorities believed Ferris might have been experiencing suicidal thoughts at the time of his disappearance, adding a tragic dimension to the case.
Originally from Illinois, Ferris had studied marine biology at the University of San Diego and worked for SeaWorld, a testament to his passion for marine life.
