In the late hours of August 10, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the life of 22-year-old Reynold Ranard Walker was tragically cut short. At approximately 11:55 p.m., Walker was inside a residence located in the 2000 block of Northeast 29th Street, near Martin Luther King Avenue, when two individuals came knocking at the door.
Once the door was opened, the two suspects forced their way inside the home. They proceeded to find Walker and shot him.
Emergency services were called, and Walker was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Oklahoma City Police Department launched a homicide investigation into Walker's death, which marked the city's 45th homicide of the year. Their investigation led to the identification of suspects. On August 23, 2016, a 17-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. Later that same month, a second suspect was also taken into custody. While the motive for the shooting was not made immediately public, it was reported that Walker was the intended target of the two individuals.
