In Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of 18-year-old Christopher Dion Foster was tragically cut short on the night of March 12, 2017. The events that led to his death stemmed from a volatile relationship with his former girlfriend. On that particular evening, Foster, accompanied by two teenage girls, went to the residence of his ex-girlfriend's stepfather, Antonio Simmons.
The situation escalated after Foster was initially allowed inside the home but was later asked to leave.
As Foster and the two young women were getting into their car to depart, Simmons followed them and opened fire on the vehicle. The gunfire resulted in the deaths of both Christopher Foster and one of the teenage girls with him, Cynthia Peraza.
During the subsequent police investigation, no weapons were discovered inside the car in which Foster and the girls were traveling. Antonio Simmons, who had a prior criminal history, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. He was subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder, in addition to assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a former felon. Simmons claimed that his actions were in self-defense, alleging that Foster had been violent toward his stepdaughter in the past. Foster's mother, Antoinette Foster, mourned the loss of her son, stating that despite a troubled past, he had been trying to improve his life.
