In a tragic incident that unfolded in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 17-year-old Juan Carlos Solis Aguilar lost his life. Born in Hidalgo, Mexico, he was a student at Jenks High School and worked at Charleston's restaurant, known by friends and family for his big heart and beautiful spirit. He was often called Juju by those who knew him well. His teachers recognized his accomplishments and were proud of the young man he was becoming.
On the evening of May 18, 2018, a distressing event took place at
his family's home. Juan was with his 15-year-old brother when a loaded pistol was being handled. Around 8 p.m., the firearm discharged, and Juan was struck in the head. The wound proved to be fatal, and he passed away from the accidental shooting. His death was officially recorded on May 19, 2018.
In the aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement responded to the scene. Juan's 15-year-old brother was subsequently arrested in connection with the fatal incident.
