Kent Richardson, aged 55, was fatally shot on June 26, 2011, in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The shooting occurred on a Saturday night in a residential area, a part of the South Side that has been plagued by violence for years. Richardson was shot while standing outside his home in the 1500 block of West 69th Street. Emergency services arrived on the scene, and he was transported to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
