In the early hours of April 27, 2019, a night of camaraderie turned tragic for 23-year-old U.S. Army Sergeant Christopher 'Chris' Pugh, a Black man stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Pugh, a member of the 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment, was at the K9 Motorcycle Club in Lawton with friends when an altercation broke out inside the establishment.
