On July 13, 2024, Lawton, Oklahoma lost one of its own when David Anthony Beckner, a 54-year-old white male, was found dead at the city's municipal golf course. He had been born on March 17, 1970, to David Lee and Giordana Beckner in a U.S. Army hospital in Vicenza, Italy, and grew up moving with his family from post to post before they eventually settled in Lawton.
