In the early hours of July 14, 2019, a violent home invasion in northeast Oklahoma City tragically cut short the life of 46-year-old Marcus DeWayne Huddleston. Huddleston, a Black/African American male, was at a residence in the 1500 block of NE 25th Street when the incident occurred.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., two unidentified suspects forcibly entered the home by kicking in the door. Once inside, they opened fire, striking Huddleston and a woman named Yolanda Combs. Huddleston was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene. Combs, who was 54 years old at the time, was also shot but survived her injuries. She was transported to OU Medical Center with non-life-threatening wounds. Combs later described Huddleston as her loving partner of eight years and expressed her profound grief and confusion over the senseless attack.

The two suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Despite an ongoing investigation by the Oklahoma City Police Department, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Marcus DeWayne Huddleston. The motive for the deadly assault remains unclear to authorities, who have urged the public to come forward with any information that might lead to the identification and capture of the individuals responsible. The case remains unsolved, leaving a grieving family and community searching for answers and justice.
