On New Year's Day in 2020, a walk home turned fatal for 40-year-old Darrel Hope in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the vicinity of 15th and Garnett, Hope was shot and killed, marking the city's first homicide of the year. The male victim was discovered in the street, having succumbed to gun violence.
