In the summer of 2020, the life of Leroy White Jr., a 38-year-old Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On June 13th, he was discovered deceased in a room at the OYO Hotel located near 3rd and Sheridan. The cause of his death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the chest, prompting the Tulsa Police Department to launch a homicide investigation into what was the city's 32nd homicide of the year.
The investigation quickly led authorities to identify
several individuals believed to be connected to the crime. A primary suspect, 30-year-old Michael Jordan, was identified, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. In addition to Jordan, the police announced they were also searching for three other suspects who they believed were involved. A dark blue 2018-2020 Ford EcoSport SUV was also identified as a vehicle of interest in the case.
Less than two weeks after the discovery of White's body, a breakthrough in the case occurred. On June 26, 2020, one of the suspects, 28-year-old Lamarr Carter, was apprehended in Independence, Missouri. His arrest marked a significant development in the ongoing investigation. While Carter was taken into custody, the search for Michael Jordan and the other individuals connected to the death of Leroy White Jr. continued as investigators worked to bring all responsible parties to justice.
