In the fading light of a late September evening in 2020, a tragedy unfolded in a Midwest City apartment complex that would cut short a young life. On September 30th, in a parking lot of the Sand Hills Apartments, a 12-year-old male named Roland Jones, who had been reported as a runaway, was with a group of other juveniles. The ordinary evening was shattered by the sound of a single gunshot, a sound that would forever alter the lives of those present.
