On a Friday evening, February 5, 2021, in Oklahoma City, a confrontation at a convenience store near Northwest 10th Street and May Avenue ended in the tragic death of 44-year-old Timothy Satterfield. A white male, Satterfield was discovered by responding police officers deceased at the scene, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
The events leading to the shooting began with a heated exchange between Satterfield and another man, Travis Standard.
Investigators learned that Standard was the boyfriend of Satterfield's ex-wife. The verbal confrontation escalated into a physical altercation when Satterfield reportedly attacked Standard with a stick. In response, Standard produced a pistol and shot Satterfield.
Following the shooting, Standard initially fled the scene. However, he returned a short time later and was met by homicide detectives. After being interviewed about the incident, Travis Standard, a white male, was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. He faces a complaint of murder in the second degree.
