In the summer of 2021, a burst of violent gunfire shattered the peace of a Tulsa, Oklahoma neighborhood, leaving a young man fatally wounded in the street. Daquan Ratliff, a 27-year-old Black male, was discovered by responding officers near East 27th and North Boston Place on the night of July 24th. He was swiftly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
