In Oklahoma City, a former reptile dealer named Jeffrey Lynn Johnson, a 58-year-old White man, died on September 8, 2021. On that evening, an argument between Johnson and his wife, Charity, escalated in the garage of their home. In the midst of the dispute, Johnson took his own life with a handgun in her presence. Their two young children were also in the house at the time.
Charity Johnson immediately called 911 for help.
When emergency responders arrived, they found that Johnson still had a pulse and transported him to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The Oklahoma City Police Department investigated the incident and officially ruled his death a suicide.
According to his wife, Johnson had no known history of mental illness. Johnson, who had appeared in the fourth episode of the first season of the Netflix series 'Tiger King,' had in recent years been a stay-at-home father to his children. He was also known as an avid car enthusiast and had previously worked for many years at an auto trim and glass shop.
