In the summer of 2022, the life of 42-year-old Erin Fowler, a White/Caucasian female, was tragically cut short in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On the evening of July 3rd, she was left at Mercy Hospital with a fatal gunshot wound to her head and was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival. Fowler was a mother of three and the Director of Operations for the Victims Impact Panel of Oklahoma, where she was known for her dedication to helping victims of drunk driving.
The investigation into her
death quickly led to her boyfriend, Shawn Tackitt. Police initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle being driven erratically. The driver, Tackitt, informed the officers that he had been involved in a shooting and had left the victim at a hospital. A search of his vehicle revealed significant evidence, including a shotgun, blood, and spent casings.
Hospital surveillance footage showed Tackitt driving around the emergency room entrance before pushing Fowler's body out of the vehicle. During his arrest, an intoxicated Tackitt made several incriminating statements, including 'I killed her' and 'I shot her.' It was later determined that Fowler had been shot in the back of the head.
Tackitt, who has a lengthy criminal history, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail as the investigation into the motive and the full circumstances of Erin Fowler's death continued.
