In the early morning hours of September 30, 2022, a domestic dispute in Tulsa, Oklahoma, tragically ended the life of 34-year-old Pete Roger 'PJ' Clifton. The incident unfolded at the Sunset Plaza Apartments, where Clifton was shot by his stepson, Camreion Williams.
Following the shooting, Williams fled the scene, leaving Clifton critically injured. Emergency services transported Clifton to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
The initial call to the police came in around 1:20 a.m., reporting the violent encounter.
Later that same morning, law enforcement received a tip that Williams had returned to the apartment complex. As officers arrived, Williams once again attempted to evade capture, leading police on a brief chase that concluded at the Cox Business Center in downtown Tulsa. There, Williams, who was employed as a security guard at the venue, abandoned his vehicle and ran into the building. A tense situation ensued as police evacuated the business center. Williams utilized a company radio, and authorities were able to trace the transmission to a maintenance room where he was hiding. He ultimately surrendered to the police without further incident and was taken into custody. Camreion Williams was subsequently arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his stepfather.
