In the quiet, rural landscape of Seminole County, Oklahoma, between the small towns of Sasakwa and Wewoka, a violent encounter on the evening of Sunday, November 6, 2022, left one man dead and another wounded. Russell 'Rusty' Bolen, a 33-year-old resident of Konawa, was fatally shot in an incident that shattered the tranquility of the area. Another man, 52-year-old Robie Watters, also suffered from a gunshot wound but was transported from the scene for medical treatment.
