On a tragic Sunday morning, October 21, 2012, the community of Brookfield, Wisconsin, was shattered by a senseless act of violence that claimed the life of Maelyn Lind, a 38-year-old White/Caucasian woman. Lind was at her workplace, the Azana Salon & Spa, when a gunman opened fire, ending her life and the lives of two others. Remembered as a selfless and caring individual, Maelyn was a dedicated mother and grandmother who worked multiple jobs to support her family.
