In the early morning hours of October 9, 2016, a night of socializing turned tragic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, ending the life of 32-year-old Timothy Olinger, a Black/African American male. The incident unfolded outside of the Comments Nightclub, located near 52nd and Hampton, where Olinger was a patron. At approximately 2:45 a.m., law enforcement responded to a call regarding a man with a gun.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Olinger with a very serious gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported Olinger to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. Remembered by his family as a man who "loved everybody," Olinger was a father to a 12-year-old child. In the wake of the shooting, his loved ones gathered for a vigil to honor his memory, describing him as having a heart of gold.
In the days following the homicide, the Milwaukee Police Department actively sought the public's assistance in identifying those responsible for Olinger's death. Their investigation led them to seek three men in connection with the fatal shooting. Authorities also released information about a vehicle they believed to be associated with the suspects.
Despite their efforts and public appeals for information, the investigation into Timothy Olinger's murder appears to have stalled. There have been no subsequent announcements regarding any arrests made in the case, and the identities of the three suspects sought by police have not been publicly disclosed. The circumstances that led to the shooting remain unclear, leaving a case that is, by all available accounts, unresolved.
