In the autumn of 2016, the life of Clinton E. Washington, a 34-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On the evening of October 20th, a grim discovery was made in the 2400 block of N. Holton Street where Washington's body was found inside a trash can around 6:30 p.m. The nature of the discovery immediately prompted a homicide investigation by the Milwaukee Police Department.
The investigation into Washington's death revealed that he had
been fatally shot. Authorities worked to piece together the events leading to his murder, seeking a motive and searching for those responsible. As the investigation progressed, several suspects were identified, leading to arrests in connection with the case. The community and Washington's family were left grappling with the violent loss of a man who was a father to four children.
Years later, the case remained a subject of ongoing investigation. In December 2020, new evidence emerged in the form of a video showing a vehicle of interest, which investigators hoped would shed more light on a possible motive. Detectives expressed their belief that the person responsible for Clinton Washington's death was likely someone known to him. The placement of the trash can containing his body was also considered significant by investigators, suggesting it may have been a message. The home where Washington was living was burglarized after his death, and his car was found abandoned on the northwest side of the city, adding further layers to the complex case.
