In the late summer of 2017, the life of a young Black / African American man, Dante Quezaire Jr., was cut tragically short at the age of 21. On the morning of Friday, September 1st, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Quezaire was seriously wounded by a gunshot. In the immediate aftermath, he was taken and dropped off at a local hospital. The exact location of the shooting remained a mystery to investigators, a crucial missing piece that would complicate their search for answers.
For a day, Dante
clung to life, but his injuries proved too severe. He succumbed to the gunshot wound on Saturday, September 2, 2017. His passing left his family, including his parents, siblings, and grandparents, to grapple with the sudden and violent loss. Friends and loved ones remembered him as someone who enjoyed playing football and watching Green Bay Packer games with his father. He was a graduate of Riverside High School and was remembered for the joy he brought to those who knew him.
The Milwaukee Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide, but the circumstances surrounding the shooting made their task exceptionally difficult. Without a known crime scene, gathering evidence and identifying potential witnesses proved to be a significant challenge. Authorities continued to seek a motive for the shooting and search for any suspects involved. Despite their efforts, the case grew cold, and as of the most recent available information, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Dante Quezaire Jr. The lack of resolution has left his family and community still waiting for justice.
