On a spring evening in Milwaukee, the life of 25-year-old Marquita Walker was tragically cut short. On May 14, 2018, Walker was found suffering from a serious gunshot wound near 11th and Keefe. Despite the efforts of first responders, she succumbed to her injuries. The Black / African American woman's death was a shock to her family and friends, who gathered to remember her a few days later, lighting candles and sharing memories of a life taken too soon.
