In the late summer of 2018, the life of John T. Martin, a 45-year-old Black male, was cut short in a violent encounter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On the evening of Tuesday, September 18, 2018, Martin was inside a residence near the intersection of 53rd Street and West Fairmount Avenue. An altercation broke out within the home, escalating to the point of gunfire.
