Jovon Saffore, aged 17, was fatally shot on November 28, 2011, on Chicago's West Side. He was found in the 5500 block of West Quincy Street after neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Saffore sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including being shot in both legs, and was discovered lying in the street near his home. The shooting took place in the afternoon, and despite the swift response by emergency services, Saffore succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.
