Devonte Granberry Sr., 28, a Black/African American male, was killed on the night of November 7, 2020, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Around 10 p.m., near North 40th Street and West Vienna Street, he was confronted by two men who tried to rob him. As he attempted to run, he was shot from behind and pronounced dead at the scene. Public memorial and obituary pages confirmed his identity and age and recorded the date and place of his death. Those sources, along with the early police summary, did not name any suspects.
Available public records and news coverage reviewed do not show subsequent announcements of arrests connected to the killing. As of those reports, investigators continued to seek information while the case remained publicly unsolved.
